Located in rural St. Croix just outside of the major tourism centers, Wacho Beach is a fine choice for anyone looking for the quintessential tropical beach without the crowds or city-views.
Located in Bamboo, 2.8 miles south of downtown Christiansted, Wacho Beach is on the Southeast coast of St. Croix. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity.
Drivers will find easy access to the beach and plenty of parking. You will need to get to Southside Road, as the beach is on the other side of that. If you can get on the main road that runs through Catherine's Rest, do so, as it ends at the beach.
The arching beach changes angles three times throughout its length, creating what is like four different beaches independent of each other. However, all parts of Wacho Beach are lined with a row of vegetation and enclosed by two rocky points. The beach itself though has soft warm sand and features clear calm water.
Please note that public restrooms are not available. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you're looking to see what goes on beneath the surface.
If you happen to enjoy beaches that bring guests a calm place to escape, then you may want to try Wacho Beach; it's located within a much quieter sector of St. Croix.
