Estate Whim Museum

 

Step into the life of colonial St. Croix, when sugar was king and sugar mills were a common sight. The Estate Whim Museum presents the daily life of plantation owners and workers in the recreated sugar mill and estate.

Exhibits

Those who pay for admission will be given a tour through the sugar mill and will be able to explore how critical this industry was, as well as the effect it had on daily life. The 12-Acre site includes a number of restored buildings and various collections of artifacts from throughout St. Croix's history. You will be able to explore the Great House, slave quarters, the mill and factory complex, and much more as you walk through the complex that still grows sugar cane. In addition to the immense history you will experience, your admission also helps the St. Croix Landmark society continue to preserve the rich history of the island.

Operating Hours

The estate is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday as well as Cruise Ship days other than Sunday. Their hours are generally 10:00am to 3:00pm, though they are open until 4:00pm on select days; call for more information.

Payment

Adults will pay $10 per person for admission whereas ages 7 through 12 only have to pay $5. Ages 6 and below are free. There is a special Senior's rate of $8. Veterans and active duty military receive free admission.
