Drunk Bay

From Salt Pond Trail, most hikers continue on until they read Drunk Bay, which is known for the coral art work left behind by past visitors.

The rough waters of Drunk Bay are such that it is recommended that visitors not swim here.

Don't take in the appearance of Drunk Bay at first site and think that that's it. Instead, head to the left of the beach entrance where you will find a collection of large rocks that host a fun offering: coral art work. Visitors from the past have found inspiration in the coral rocks on the beach and after a day of sand combing it is common to leave a picture made from your findings.

Located on the island of St. John, 1.1 miles south of Friis Bay, Drunk Bay always welcomes residents and tourists lodging on this part of the island or close by. Regardless of whether or not you're staying very close, you should feel free to stop by to check out the sights. If you're wondering, Coral Bay is two and a half miles (four and a half kilometers) to the north-northwest.

To access Drunk Bay, take the Salt Pond Trail. The rail begins at the east end of Salt Pond Beach and goes inland toward Salt Pond. From there, it is a quarter mile walk to Drunk Bay.
