On the northwest coast of the island is where you'll find the best beaches located within the vicinity of St. John's. These include two very popular public beaches that are frequented by locals and the four beaches in the crescents of Hawksbill which are out of the way yet can still get crowded.
You will discover a large number of beaches to consider visiting in and around the area. Snorkeling is an option at some of these beaches, for visitors who enjoy the underwater scene. You can click on each beach name to get additional information about that specific beach.
One beach where you may find people snorkeling is Runaway Beach. Next door to popular Dickinson's Bay, Runaway Beach is easy to get to and open to the public.
Another place worth considering is St. Johns Harbor West. This beach has no parking for the public and is tricky to access except through the grounds of the Coconut Beach Club resort, though there is an unpaved road that leads to the eastern side of the beach.
Trafalgar Beach: The beach is located at the end of RobRace Drive, which splinters off of Gray's Farm Main Road. You should not have much trouble finding parking.
