This UNESCO World Heritage Site was built by the British and once protected all of St.Kitts; a beacon of power for the whole of British Caribbean. It was eventually abandoned, and fell to ruins. However, thanks to the dedication of historic societies, the fort has been restored to its former glory.
The main office at Brimstone Hill Fortress offers hand held audio tours, so that you can explore the fort at your own pace. When you are done, you can walk over to the canteen and relax with a cold drink and a bite to eat.
The fort itself is made of black volcanic rock, and the main building is placed begins a wall with cannons. The fortress as a whole overlooks a steep hill that eventually ends in the water, offering fantastic views of the sea.
Saint Anne Sandy Point Parish is a good option for those wishing to visit Brimstone Hill Fortress, since visitors to this part of St. Kitts will be excited to have easy access to this historic attraction during their visit. Though the region isn't exactly over-crowded, you'll nevertheless find a handful of lodging options to choose from.

Those visiting Brimstone Hill Fortress will have access to at least a couple island activities like golfing and taking to the coast without having to look very hard. Historic site guests also wishing to get in a game of golf should look into the nearest course, Royal St. Kitts Golf Club. If you don't take a whole lot of pride in your golf game, think about checking out Pump Bay, the closest beach. Although you won't find an extensive selection nearby, a couple other comparable beach and golf options exist in the area. Guests will find themselves close to a couple additional attractions in the area. Not far away you'll find Fort Charles, one of only a couple indoor places of interest located right around the historic site.
This site is open to the public everyday from 9:30am until 5:30pm.
