Ancient Indian stone carvings are the central draw to this beach, though ruins from an old colonial church destroyed in the Saint Lucia French Revolution of the late 1700s is another intriguing attraction. A trip to Dauphin Beach will make for a very interesting, often exciting, day.
Located on the island of Saint Lucia, You might want to drop by even if you are not staying particularly close by. There are advantages to visiting a beach that hasn't been "discovered" by thousands of tourists; secluded parts of the coast like Dauphin Beach might not be typical "beach scenes", but are nice and private.
Accessible only by jeep, the trip out here has the potential to make for some adventure. You can get a jeep to take you to the coast from Monchy, a town northwest of Castries.

Historical attractions like Fort Rodney offer a wonderful compliment to the scenery of Dauphin Beach, plus they allow vacationers to learn more about St. Lucia, without having to venture too far from the coast. Actually, this coast is four miles from this historical destination.

Dauphin Beach is in the Rodney Bay area, so you can explore the city as part of your day at the beach. The city of Rodney Bay is close-by and is an area with plenty to do, but yet isn't overcrowded. From the beach, Rodney Bay isn't far off, roughly two and a half miles (four kilometers).
The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, it depends on several things: the season, the weather, even how full the nearby hotels are. You can generally expect to share the sand with more than a few visitors from lodgings in the area.

Needless to say, Dauphin Beach isn't the only beach worth visitng on Saint Lucia.
If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Rodney Bay, found a short taxi ride away. Rodney Bay's pretty beaches are not the focal point at this tourist haven, where many guests come to spend time at the beach, shops, restaurants, and other areas scattered along the shore. Others might prefer Donkey Beach, which offers a few more possibilities for excitement, and is closer to other tourist hot-spots. It's located three and a half miles to the west.
You may also want to consider Cas En Bas, located only a short distance away.
Maybe Dauphin Beach is a perfect spot for you to kick back, and at the same time perhaps not the the ideal fit; if so, there are other beaches and natural attractions on St. Lucia you might like.
