Anse Marcel is a beautiful beach, completely tucked away in a bay, with some of the brightest blue waters I've ever seen. The sand is soft and white and the shape of the bay calms the waves into gentle ripples.

Located in Anse Marcel, this beach is on the South East coast of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You should consider stopping by regardless of whether you're staying very close. Active couples and families who enjoy immersing themselves in the city's busy thoroughfares might just fall in love with Anse Marcel.

How to Access The Beach
Access to this beach tends to be limited to those who are staying at the resorts that line the beachfront. You could patronize the bar at the resort and casually head to the shore or you could try just walking through or renting a boat and arriving at the marina.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach has two major hotels on its inland side, owning this beachfront property. There's also a marina with a channel into the bay on the east side of the beach.

You'll also discover that there is a restaurant on the shore worth trying. St. Martin has plenty of fantastic eateries around town, but not all your meals have to be in a sit-down restaurant. Many visitors, in fact, would rather eat lunch by the shoreline than in a different restaurant. With this in mind, you might ask your hotel if they offer to pack picnic lunches for their guests. Or, on your way to the beach you could grab some carry-out from a casual dining spot.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch.

Travelers can take advantage of the available picnic tables, where you can park your belongings for the afternoon, or set up a quick lunch.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Showers are provided for visitors, so you can clean up before leaving.

Though, make sure you be sensitive to the fact that even if there will be some forms of comforts present while at Anse Marcel, it can be found in a commonly visited area. If throngs of people are something you want to avoid, it is an appropriate reason to make plans to visit to beat all the other tourists, maybe heading to the beach earlier when it is a little cooler. If you do not, you could not be able to fully enjoy the amenities which the beach offers.

Other Beaches

Needless to say, there are other beaches on the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten besides Anse Marcel worth visiting.

If the vibrant atmosphere of Anse Marcel is what you're looking for, you'll want to consider heading to Baie de cul-de-sac, a spot with the same type of electricity. You'll find it one and a quarter miles to the east-southeast. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Grande-Case Beach is a beach which doesn't host as many visitors. It is located only a short distance away.

You may also enjoy Baie Lucas Beach, which is located not too far away, meaning a short cab ride should put you in the right spot to check out this other choice.

Perhaps Anse Marcel is the most convenient coastline for you to visit, but some travelers itch to explore more; in which case you should keep looking for a beach or natural attraction that suits your vacation style.
