Grandes Cayes

This beach is on a more isolated, northeastern part of the island. You can come here and forget all about civilization as you sink your toes in the soft, warm sand.

Located in Saint Martin, Grandes Cayes is on the South East coast of the island of St. Martin and Sint Maarten. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying nearby. The beaches in St. Martin aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, but Grandes Cayes is less exposed than the others, making it just the right spot for vacationers who'd like a less hectic scene, but one that's not completely empty.

How to Access The Beach
The access road here is called the Rue de Grande Caye. It dead ends just north of the beach, so you'll know if you missed it. With no resorts to fence off the beachfront, you can walk right on this beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach is a curved sweep of sand on a crystalline blue bay, without any development at all. It's a flat beach with usually calm waters. This is one of the few beaches on the island with solitary ambiance, away from the hustle and bustle.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Since Grandes Cayes will be found in an area popular among tourist, many try to show up early.

Grandes Cayes is on St. Martin's South East coast. It's located near Hope Estate Archeological Site, which is one of a number of area's attractions.

If you want to mix some cultural exploration with your trip to the beach, you should plan a trip to Cultural Center Grand Case. This museum is located two and a half miles away, so it would be an easy side trip to take after some time in the sun.
