1 | Tree Limin' Extreme

You may have been on zip-line in the forest before, but this one is different. With Tree Limin' Extreme Zip Lining, you will be going through the course while on the slop of a mountain.

Head two miles (three kilometers) to the northwest from the center of Charlotte Amalie to reach this zip line site, which is located in the neighborhood of Barret.

2 | St. Peter Greathouse & Botanical Gardens

Set atop a volcanic peak on the island of St. Thomas is the 150-acre plantation, St. Peter Greathouse and Botanical Gardens. The property was built originally in the 19th century, and now serves as a popular spot to host weddings and events, as well as a botanical garden that is open to the public for touring.

This botanical garden is at 3A-18 Estate St. Peter, and is a quarter mile (a half kilometer) to the southeast of Tree Limin' Extreme.

1 | Mahogany Run

The course has received a variety of awards, including one for their efforts to maintain the beauty of the natural surroundings. Golfers who want to enjoy the local wildlife might get the chance to see iguanas, mongoose, a variety of birds, and maybe even a hump-backed whale off the coast if you're visiting during the right season.

This golf course is located two miles (three kilometers) to the northeast of Charlotte Amalie, and is at 1 Mahogany Run Road.

1 | Coral World

Coral World is the ultimate interactive aquarium where you are immersed in the water world of marine life. You will be able to explore and have fun while still learning a thing or two.

Head four miles (seven kilometers) to the east from the center of Charlotte Amalie to find this aquarium, which is located at 6450 Estate Smith Bay.

1 | Herman Moore Golf

Although it is not a full course (there aren't even any holes), Herman E. Moore Golf Course is a great place to practice your putting and driving.

Found on the premises of University Of The Virgin Islands, this golf course is two and a half miles (four and a half kilometers) west of the center of Charlotte Amalie.

1 | Crowell's Battery

Part of the British build-up of Hassel Island, this position was not abandoned until the 1960s when it was used to signal the harbour master that ships were arriving. Today, it has no purpose save historical interest, and is slowly crumbling.

Found within Hassel Island Historic Park, this historical site is on Hassel Island, a mile (a kilometer and a half) south of the center of Charlotte Amalie.

2 | Fort Willoughy Ruins

After occupying St. Thomas, the British built this fort, Fort Willoughy directly on top the captured Danish one. Today, the fort stands in ruins, though has fared better than its sister positions on Hassel Island.

Go a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Crowell's Battery to find this historical site, which is situated on Hassel Island. It is within the premises of Hassel Island Historic Park.

1 | Phillips' Botanical Garden

This botanical garden is situated approximately two and a half miles (approximately three and a half kilometers) to the south west of the center of Charlotte Amalie, on Water Island and is toward the center of Water Island.

2 | Hotel Ruins

Found on Water Island, on Druif Point Road, this historical site is just 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south west of Phillips' Botanical Garden.

3 | Fort Segarra

Fort Segarra is unique among American Forts in the Virgin Islands is that it is built underground. It was built as part of the American defensive strategy during World War II, and today offers its corridors to be explored by inquisitive visitors.

Head a short distance (about three quarters of a kilometer) to the south from Hotel Ruins to find this historical site, which is situated on Water Island, on Fort Road.
