Limetree Beach

The area around the cove at Limetree Beach is developed, with a few hotels along the shore that provide restrooms, bars, and restaurants for guests. The beach's atmosphere is perfect for reading a book while lounging or having a tropical drink, and a watersports stand provides all types of equipment and instruction for some fun on the water.

Positioned toward the southern outskirts of Frenchman Bay, Limetree Beach is on the South East coast of St. Thomas. You might think about stopping by whether or not you're staying very close. Limetree Beach stands out because it's the ideal location for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in the Virgin Islands offer views of the sea that are just as pretty, but are usually more cramped because they border some of the area's most popular resorts.

How to Access The Beach
Access to the beach is provided by a dirt path that connects to Route 30. Due to its somewhat rocky terrain, drivers should use a vehicle with four wheel drive.

Amenities and Ambiance

Limetree Beach resides along a natural cove on St. Thomas offering beautiful views and fantastic sunsets, as well as the chance to catch sight of iguanas lounging in the sun. The sands are soft but the waters can be dangerous, with waves that range from mild to very rough, and a rocky entrance is not conducive to swimming. For those that hope to sunbathe or walk on the soft sand, the surrounding grape trees and palms make for excellent shade.

The snack bar located at this spot is perfect for quick lunches and cold drinks, too. You may also have the option to order lunch from one of the local vendors who are typically found at this location.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you want to do some underwater exploration. The area has a few hotels, yet the beach does not get too crowded, and most of the people here are tourists enjoying the sun or watching for iguanas.

Since Limetree Beach can be located within an area popular among tourist, you might need to hunt to get a spot!
