Amenities and Ambiance

Often called one of the world's most beautiful beaches and ranked by Travel + Leisure as one of the "Best Beaches on Earth," Magens Bay is St. Thomas' favorite family beach. A half-mile of crescent-shaped sand and clear blue waters that are ideal for swimming and hanging out make it a great escape. The beach can get very crowded when several cruise ships are in port but walking to the far ends of the beach, you can easily find a quiet spot. St. Thomas' lush green mountains border the shoreline, while views of smaller islands lie off in the distance.

The snack bar located at this spot is perfect for quick lunches and cold drinks, too.

Facilities like showers, picnic tables, and restrooms are available at Magens Bay, meaning guests can enjoy these benefits and potentially stay for an entire day.

In addition, visitors can access lounge chairs at this beach. The water in the area is of good snorkeling quality, so purchase or rent some gear if you want to see the underwater world. As one of the more popular beaches on the island, Magens Bay, is usually very crowded during the day with tourists. It is often a little less crowded in the afternoon hours.

Magens Bay with its offerings for amenities and services can be located well within an area that sees many visitors. If you would rather stay free of busy-beaches and crowded shores, it'll be a smart idea to plan your visit out for times when there are less people, for example heading to the beach earlier in the day.
