Amenities and Ambiance

Renaissance Beach is an ideal location on the northern coast of St. Thomas for watersports, particularly windsurfing. The beach's waters are calm and good for swimming, although they are filled with sea grass.

You'll also discover that there is a restaurant on the shore worth trying. Each country in the Caribbean has its own culinary style, and the Virgin Islands is no different. One of the most memorable places to sample the local fare is right next to the coast. With this in mind, you might ask your hotel if they offer to pack picnic lunches for their guests. Or, you could find just what you need from cafes and street vendors en route to the beach.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch. You might also have the option to buy food from one of the local vendors who set up shop at the beach.

There are public restrooms at this beach——something you'll appreciate if you bring the kids along. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so bring your gear if you're looking to see some exciting marine life. This beautiful beach attracts families and couples to its shores, while watersports enthusiasts also come to play in the sparkling waters.

With that said, make sure you realize that even though there are luckily a few amenities on location if you go to Renaissance Beach, it can be found within an area popular among tourist. Unless you do not mind crowds, it's an appropriate reason to plan your visit out against other visitors, perhaps arriving in the morning. If you wait around, you may run the risk of all of the services being overwhelmed.
