Amenities and Ambiance

Palm trees line the shores, providing shade for guests at this beautiful beach at Secret Harbor. The waters are cool, calm, and refreshing, inviting guests to jump in and visit some of the great snorkeling areas along the rocks. White, soft sands complement the atmosphere at Secret Harbor, an exquisite Caribean beach.

There is also a restaurant right on the water, so if you don't want to leave Secret Harbor at all, it's worth a try. The Virgin Islands has so many interesting places to sit and enjoy a meal, but did you know that some of the Virgin Islands' best dishes aren't served in restaurants at all? Some vacationers find it more convenient and relaxing to eat on near the beach than in another restaurant. Ask your hotel about picnic lunches, as some hotels offer to pack snacks for their guests' day trips. Or, it would be easy to grab some hot food from a street vendor or casual cafe along the way.

The snack bar here is the ultimate convenience if you need a cold drink, or something to hold you over until dinner. On some days, it may be possible to purchase food from one of the local vendors who typically set up shop here.

Secret Harbor does have public restrooms for your convenience. You will also have access to chairs and umbrellas, so guests looking for a break from the hot sun will get their wish. The water here is of good snorkeling quality, so bring along some equipment if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life. With small condos and hotels lining the shores, Secret Harbor Beach mainly attracts tourists. It is especially popular with the singles crowd. This beach is also great for families.

Secret Harbor as well as its offering of conveniences can be found inside a commonly visited area. If you would rather stay free of busy-beaches and crowded shores, there is a smart motivator to plan your visit out for times when there are less people, such as showing up first thing in the morning. If not, you might not be able to take advantage of all those comforts which the beach has to offer.

Other Beaches

Vacationers in search of the perfect beach will have other options if Secret Harbor doesn't suit their tastes.

You may also want to try Lindquist Beach, which is in a pretty active location. You'll find it a mile and a half to the north. One of the best secrets on St.. Thomas is Lindquist Beach, a perfect Caribbean beach, that resides off of an unmarked dirt road, and thus stays unpopulated in a busy tourist area. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Cowpet Beach is a beach secluded from lots of tourists and buildings. You'll find it just a little ways away.

You may also want to consider Vessup Bay, located within a short distance.

Maybe Secret Harbor is a perfect spot for you to kick back, and at the same time perhaps not the the ideal fit; if so, the Virgin Islands offers a variety of beaches for travelers who wish to try elsewhere.
