Snorkeling Around Staniel Cay

Take a break from sunning on the beach and hit the water with your snorkel gear.  Your trip to Staniel Cay won't be complete without giving this educational and fun sport a try.  

There are few places on earth as intriguing as Thuderball Cave, perhaps the most famous snorkeling site in the Bahamas.  This unique site is located just off Staniel Cay, leading the way for visitors to strike out and explore more of the underwater world that surrounds the quiet island. 

Snorkeling Sites

If you'd like to explore below the water's surface you might want to visit Thunderball Cave. Also known as Thunderball Grotto, this site is impressive to even the most seasoned snorkelers thanks to the large amount of sea life that includes sergent major and queen angelfish. This spot is especially well known as a cave dive, but of course, snorkelers can be found here in abundance. This snorkeling site is located within the northwestern part of Staniel Cay.
