Keeping busy on Terre de Haut revolves mostly on being outdoors and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings – from the hilly landscape to the irresistible beaches.  To understand a little more about the island's history, however, you'll want to make a point not to miss the local landmarks which revolve mainly around a military fort.

Les Pompierres

You will discover a handful of beaches to visit on the island. If you are hoping to have a long stretch of sand to yourself, you are likely to be rewarded, since several of these beaches are relatively secluded and quiet. You can click on each beach name for a detailed review of that particular stretch of sand.

Anse Crawen: Anse Crawen is a very narrow, rocky beach that is remote from the rest of the island. With that said, it is still only a little drive away from a variety of amenities.

A second option that beach-goers can consider is Pont-Pierre Beach. The picturesque Point-Pierre Beach strikes visitors with its bright blue waters, intoxicating views of outlying islands, and the gemstone blue skies to match the water. Those looking simply to relax will be just fine here, while anyone looking for a swim will be just as happy.

Grande Anse: Grand Anse is the beach to the east of the airport, so simply take the road adjacent and you can get to one of the Grand Anse entrances.

Of course, you'll be able to find a few more beaches on the island. To read more about this specific topic, see this article.
