Keeping busy on Terre de Haut revolves mostly on being outdoors and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings – from the hilly landscape to the irresistible beaches.  To understand a little more about the island's history, however, you'll want to make a point not to miss the local landmarks which revolve mainly around a military fort.

Les Pompierres

You will find a small variety of beaches to enjoy on the island. If you prefer having a lot of room around you, you're likely to be pleased, since some of these beaches are relatively secluded and free from development. You can click on the name of the beach to get additional information about that particular location.

Anse Crawen: Visitors to Anse Crawen can play in the waves or take in the natural scenery around them.

A second place that beach-goers can consider is Pont-Pierre Beach. The picturesque Point-Pierre Beach strikes visitors with its bright blue waters, intoxicating views of outlying islands, and the gemstone blue skies to match the water. Those looking simply to relax will be just fine here, while anyone looking for a swim will be just as happy.

Grande Anse: The major beach on Terre-de-Haut, Grand Anse stretches for about a quarter of the island's eastern shore. While you can always expect there to be someone on the beach, the size of it means that you may not even notice them.

These examples are merely a few of your choices. Click here to see our article concerning beaches for Terre de Haut.
