Les Pompierres

Visited primarily by the residents and visitors of the small adjacent community, Les Pompierres is a nice little no-nonsense beach that shines in its simplicity. Visitors who come to the beach will be able to do as they wish, whether it be relaxing in the sun, playing in the water, are simply taking in the sights.

Located near the heart of the island of Terre-de-Haut, Les Pompierres is on the North edge of the island, You might want whether or not you are staying nearby. The beach is set in a rather urbanized area, but that doesn't mean the beach itself will be found swarming with people. Rather, you will typically find plenty of beach space once you hit the sand.

Les Pompierres can be reached by taking Rue de la Saline north.

Attractions

You'll find this beach on the North coast of Terre-de-Haut. Museum at Fort Napoleon is located a few hundred yards to the west-southwest, and it is among the attractions in the area.

If you want more information on the history of Guadeloupe, you won't have to look hard to find sites boasting the colorful history of the nation. One of the nearest historical attractions is Fort Napoleon, which is less than a mile to the south-southwest.

The nearest part of Terre-de-Haut to Les Pompierres is Grand Anse. This interesting part of Terre-de-Haut is just three miles from the shore, so it doesn't have to be a terribly lengthy excursion. Grand Anse is not an overly urbanized area, but still has its fair share of things to do.

The mood here——social and lively, or virtually empty—— will depend on how many hotel guests decide to make the trip as well. Les Pompierres is not near very many major hotels, but it's often visited by guests staying at smaller accommodations in the area.

It's no problem if you start to get the munchies while hanging out at Les Pompierres; you'll have your pick of different cuisines and dining styles nearby. Au Bon Vivre is one of the closest eateries. This restaurant features Creole food. Many guests rave about their seafood.

Other Beaches

There are multiple beaches to discover on Terre-de-Haut, of course, so perhaps you can explore more than one.

Another location you might enjoy is Pont-Pierre Beach, which is generally a pretty popular beach. You'll find it a half mile to the east-southeast. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Anse St Sauveur is a location secluded from lots of tourists and buildings. You'll find it nine and a half miles away.

Vacationers may also want to visit Anse Devant, which is located a mile and a half away.

While Guadeloupe has many alluring attractions, Les Pompierres is both a beautiful natural attraction, and a fun hangout spot.
