Called Tobago's jewel, Englishman's Bay is often called the best beach on the island, yet it is not considered to be a well-known beach. The waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling and the virtually-deserted beach is great for bathing in the sun.

Situated on the island of Tobago, You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. It's often said that Englishman's Bay is one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Many of the other beaches you'll come across on Trinidad and Tobago may provide just as many amenities as Englishman's Bay, but are usually more crowded because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

How to Access The Beach
Located on the Leeward coast of Tobago, Englishman's Bay can be found between two fishing villages, Castara and Parlatuvier.

Amenities and Ambiance

Set on the edge of the rainforest in a crescent shape, Englishman's Bay is covered with swaying palms and soft white sands. The sands begin as soon as the forestry ends, and is somewhat coarse in nature. The beach's clear blue waters, which are calm year-round, beckon any guest to swim along its shores.

The concession stand at this spot is also an option. Sometimes, visitors will be able to buy some food from one of the local vendors who typically set up shop here.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. You will find the water here is of good snorkeling quality, so bring along some equipment if you want to see the underwater world. Englishman's Bay is not well known to tourists on the island and is often relatively deserted, although it has been picking up in the last few years. A small vendor cart sells snacks to guests, but otherwise, the parrots may be your only company.

Englishman's Bay provides an idyllic and serene getaway, in part because the region surrounding the beach is not heavily urbanized.
