Hard Play Fishing Charters

Founded in 1989 by Captain Gerard "Frothy" de Silva, Hard Play Fishing Charters is well-known around Tobago for promoting the catch and release program, which helps to prevent over-fishing in the area. Hard Play cares about the environment just as much as they do fishing; a combination that many tourists appreciate.

Offerings and Cost

Specializing in reef, inshore, and deep sea fishing, Hard Play cares for all of your fishing needs. Their 3 boats are 31', 41', and 43', offering plenty of space for several guests at a time.

A shared trip is $150 for four hours, $250 for six hours and $350(USD) for eight hours. Private tours, however, range in price from $550 to $1,100(USD).

What to Expect

Hard Play is a 42 foot Fiberglass fishing boat with a single John Deere Diesel engine with 300 horsepower. It cruises at 12 knots, but has a max speed of 16 knots. There is another boat in the fleet called the Gold Spoon. It is a 43 foot Bertram with twin Detroit Diesel 550 horse power engines tha cruises at 23 knots and has a max speed of 27 knots.
