Having been established by Sean Robinson in January of 1988, this center is the oldest professional dive operator on the island and features the most experienced dive teams around.
The center is a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre that is located on the same compound as Manta (though they are two separate legal entities), and therefore has the capability of taking students from first level entry into the water straight through to the professional level of a Dive Instructor.
Sean is able to certify divers with NAUI as well as BSAC and PADI. Sean is a pioneer in the field. He started teaching diving on Trinidad since 1983 before moving to Tobago. He was also the first licensed commercial diver on Trinidad & Tobago. Sure there were others, however they were not licensed. He acquired his licence at the College of Oceaneering in California. Some of the spots they frequently dive were discovered by Sean himself.
Your very first dive experience is free in the pool, but if you hope to continue to learn and participate in an actual dive, sign up for the Resort Course which includes one dive for $79(USD). PADI Scuba Diver is $295 and includes two dives, Open Water is $495 and includes four dives, Adventure Diver is $295 and includes three dives, Advanced Open Water is $395(USD) and includes five dives, and Rescue Diver is $325. Tobago Dive Experience also offers specialty courses, BSAC courses, and NAUI courses.
Time to dive? A single tank trip is $54, two tanks are $94, and a night dive is $70(USD). If your Nitrox certified, you can pay an extra $15 per tank for Nitrox. There are also packages available to lower per cost dive.
