Apple Bay

The beach at Apple Bay has been nicknamed the "Surfing Beach" so, if you're in search of the perfect wave this is the destination for you. During most of the year the waves are only around five to six feet. Though this beach is small, you will still find plenty of beach activities, especially when the surf is up. For the best surfing, visit Apple Bay in January and February. This beach is on the northwest shore of Tortola and guarantees a fun time for active beach goers or those who just want to sunbathe on soft sand.

Located on the eastern outskirts of Long Bay, 2.6 miles south west of Cane Garden Bay, Apple Bay is on the South West coast of Tortola. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. Though travel usually involves making dozens of little decisions, picking the right beach can mean the difference between a stressful and a relaxing afternoon. Before you arrive, consider some of the Virgin Islands' most interesting options, like Apple Bay.

Amenities and Ambiance

The concession stand at this spot is also an option. Sometimes, visitors will be able to buy some food from one of the mobile vendors who are generally found here.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Near Apple Bay, there is a small community and a very casual hotel called Sebastian's, so these shores are frequented by both vacationers and locals alike.
