Apple Bay

The beach at Apple Bay has been nicknamed the "Surfing Beach" so, if you're in search of the perfect wave this is the destination for you. During most of the year the waves are only around five to six feet. Though this beach is small, you will still find plenty of beach activities, especially when the surf is up. For the best surfing, visit Apple Bay in January and February. This beach is on the northwest shore of Tortola and guarantees a fun time for active beach goers or those who just want to sunbathe on soft sand.

Set in Long Bay, 2.6 miles south west of Cane Garden Bay, Apple Bay is on the South West coast of Tortola. You might want even if you are not staying in the vicinity. Travelers looking for a spot that's a little out of the way, but still active, might enjoy stopping by Apple Bay for a few hours. Generally, it's not an overly popular part of the coast, but it also doesn't completely lack a social atmosphere.

Amenities and Ambiance

There is also a snack bar here. If available, you could also buy food from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. Near Apple Bay, there is a small community and a very casual hotel called Sebastian's, so these shores are frequented by both vacationers and locals alike.
