Most people consider Tortola to have the quintessential Caribbean beaches. All feature wide, soft shores of white sands, crystalline waters of various blue hues and little pollution, thatch-roofed huts that serve as beach bars, and palm trees lining the shore, yet each has its own presence. If you're interested in surfing and other high-intensity watersports try the beaches of the north shore, yet those who want to do little more than swim and sun will be satisfied no matter which beach they choose.
You'll discover several beaches to consider on the island. Regardless of whether you'd rather be part of a busy beach scene, or you like having more of the beach to yourself, you can find a beach that appeals to you. Simply click on the name of the beach for more information concerning that particular beach.
A local beach where snorkeling is an option is Smuggler's Cove. Smuggler's Cove is a secluded beach on Tortola, but is easily accessible by car. The crescent-shaped beach has sugary white sand and the water is stunningly blue.
Another good choice for visitors who enjoy snorkeling is Green Cay Beach. Green Cay is a speck of an island east of Little Jost Van Dyke and extremely isolated. A few people may pepper this beach, but otherwise you'll be alone in paradise if you make the journey here.
Cane Garden Bay: Cane Garden Bay, one of the most popular beaches on Tortola, is also one of the most beautiful with its soft sands, crystal clear waters, and nurturing palms. Step into paradise in this bay surrounded by lush tropical mountains and calm sea breezes.
