Cam Bay

One of the newest national parks in the British Virgin Islands, Cam Bay is a popular anchorage for yachters because of the well-kept marine atmosphere.

Cam Bay is encircled by forested area and cactus scrub.

One of the most popular pastimes at Cam Bay is birdwatching, due to the huge amount of migratory wading birds and shorebirds that nest here. These include, and are certainly not limited to, Rudy Ducks, Caribbean Coots, Black-Necked Stilts, Blue-Winges Teals, and American Coots.

Snorkeling is also great at this spot, with colorful reef fish flitting about and green turtles dining on sea grass.


Positioned in the heart of the island of Great Camanoe, 6.7 miles northeast of downtown Road Town, Cam Bay invites residents and visitors who are rooming on this part of the island. Regardless of whether or not you're staying in this location, you should feel free to stop by to check it out. It's 6.5 miles west of Spanish Town.

And, one of the most delightful options while spending an afternoon exploring the area is having a dish at a restaurant within traveling distance of Cam Bay. Pusser's Marina Cay, which has a menu full of American fare, is also the most convenient dining option from this bay. It is maybe about three quarters of a mile away, so grab a table and dig in! Vacationers that like bays, and have the energy to view some others, might consider a trip to Lee Bay and West End Bay; the first and closest of which is a half mile to the west of Cam Bay. There are at least one or two other places of interest nearby, including Cam Bay National Park, which is a quarter mile away Great Camanoe. You might also think about heading over to West Dog National Park, which is another attraction not far away.
