Located on the eastern half of Tortola and in close proximity to the international airport, Long Bay offers a quiet beach spot for the entire family. Calm, shallow waters make for excellent swimming, while sea shell collecting stands as one of the most popular activities on Long Bay East. As many tourists head to nearby Trellis Bay, the beach at Long Bay is relatively quiet.

Positioned on Beef Island, You might want whether or not you are staying very close. Peace and quiet is what you'll find at the majority of the Virgin Islands' beaches, but at Long Bay East, you'll find the same sense of serenity, without sacrificing a fun and social atmosphere.

How to Access The Beach
Visitors must cross Queen Elizabeth Bridge, into Beef Island, to get there. Continuing on Waterfront Drive, drivers should turn off shortly before the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport, where a local road will connect directly with the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

Long Bay East is a long stretch of pristine white sand on the eastern tip of the island. Dramatic green hills and the turquoise blue waters decorate the view from the beach, while the soft sand is perfect for sunbathing.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. On some days, it may be possible to order lunch from one of the mobile vendors who operate at or near this spot.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Fortunately, the water here is fit for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life. Since it is so secluded, Long Bay East is a quiet place to relax, without crowds.
