Long Bay West

Long Bay West is located on the British Virgin Island's most populated island and offers a mile-long beach area composed of soft, white sand. The water is calm to moderate, making it perfect for an exciting swim or a surf at high tide. Palm trees and small villas dot the entrance to the beach.

How to Access The Beach

Long Bay West is accessible by Long Bay Road and is open to the public, although the Long Bay Beach Resort sits on one side of it. Parking is roughly 30 feet from the beach, making it friendly to drivers and locals alike. Drivers need simply follow the major northern coastal road. A ferry terminal is provided on the southern side of the island.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sandy white beach is one mile long and bordered by coconut palms and seagrape trees. The surf, which comes in from the Atlantic, is moderate. Hills offer an amazing backdrop.

The concession stand on-site could come in handy, even if you plan to have lunch elsewhere. If available, you could also try local specialties from one of the mobile vendors who are generally found here.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Since the Long Bay Beach Resort is located on part of Long Bay West, vacationers at the hotel spread out along the beach.

Be mindful that Long Bay West is in an area which is a bustling area, so show up early.
