The remains of an 18th century fort known as the "Dungeon" once housed a garrison of soldiers who stood guard daily over the island. The underground cell looks quite ominous, which is why it has been given its nickname.
Not much remains of this fort, except a cell-like room with historic etchings on the walls. Restoration plans are in the works, though nothing has been made official.
Those wishing to visit The Dungeon may choose to book their trip in Havers, since guests staying in this part of the Virgin Islands will be excited to have convenient access to the historical site during their time there. There are a good number of lodgings in the neighborhood around this facility.
