Frenchman's Bay is one of four bays that make up the Treasure Beach area of Jamaica. Although Frenchman's Bay remains relatively secluded and underpopulated now, it is fast becoming a popular tourist spot.
Located near the center of downtown Treasure Beach, Frenchman's Bay is on the South West coast of Jamaica. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying nearby. Though there are a lot of choices to be made on vacation, choosing a beach that suits your family could be one of the most important. You will find that beaches like Frenchman's Bay are some of the best options in Jamaica.
Frenchman's Bay is located off Ocean View Hill Drive near Treasure Trove Cottage.
Frenchman's Bay is shadowed by Santa Cruz mountain range, and this makes it slightly greener than some of the other beaches on the island. Cacti and acacia trees are prevalent here. The Bay features blindingly white sands and water in a shade of turquoise that can only be described as amazing. Be aware that the currents are strong here, so weak swimmers should stay close to shore.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.
You should remember that Frenchman's Bay's location is an urban area, so plan accordingly.

Jamaica has many nice beaches, so if Frenchman's Bay doesn't suit you, you can still find a great spot.
If the exciting vibe at Frenchman's Bay has you wanting more of the same, you'll want to consider checking out Starve Gut Bay, a spot with the same type of electricity. You'll find it three and a half miles to the northwest. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Crane Beach is a location removed from some more heavily-traveled spots. You'll find it only a cab ride away from the coast.
You may also want to consider Billy Bay, which is located within a short distance.
Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand in Jamaica, but Frenchman's Bay is both a refreshing place to relax, and a beautiful natural attraction.
