The greens at Brechin Castle are relatively small, but they aren't too heavily guarded by bunkers. The fairways are straight and open, but a healthy supply of trees throughout the course serve as challenging obstacles. The course is quiet, relaxed, and serves as a good practice spot.
This golf course has become an established spot to play a few rounds, having been built in 1927. The layout, difficulty of the holes, and bunkers are all part of the design by W.S. Fulton and Ram Goberdhan, the architect of Brechin Castle Golf Club. Even though this course does not boast a full 18 holes, you can still get in 9 holes.
The course is set in the middle of a group of sugar cane fields. The terrain is gently undulating, rolling along as it is with the surrounding countryside. Brechin Castle isn't a terribly long course, and it best suits the abilities of beginner and intermediate players, though low-handicappers will still find it a nice course for a bit of practice.
