Granville Beach

Why spend just a day at the beach when you can spend the night as well? Granville is unique amongst the beaches of Trinidad because it serves as not only a popular swimming hole but a favorite camp site as well. Be warned, however, that there are no lifeguards, so night time swimming is discouraged.

Situated on the island of Trinidad, 0.6 miles north-northwest of Granville, You should think about stopping by regardless of whether you are staying very close. The beaches on Trinidad and Tobago aren't usually known for their peace and quiet, but Granville Beach is less exposed than the others, which offers some middle ground to those who aren't fond of huge throngs of tourists.

How to Access The Beach
Take Southern Main Road to Granville Road, then turn left onto Coromandel Road. A paved parking lot is available.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sands of Granville Beach are soft and dark tan in hue, while the water is aquamarine, verging on green. Typically the water is clear enough that you can see to the bottom, but heavy rainfall is known to stir up the sand and make it cloudy in appearance.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

If you tend to choose beaches that offer a tranquil environment, then think about trying out Granville Beach; it is found in a more natural part of Trinidad.
