In 1993 owner Alex Alvarez set up shop just a short distance away from the Tulum Archaeological Zone and quickly became the first provider of PADI recreational dive courses in Tulum. In addition to being a renowned dive center they also offer guests the chance to snorkel with them on a tour and rent equipment so they can go out on their own.
Snorkeling trips are offered daily at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with trips to the reef by the Great Meso-American Barrier Reef by boat, the Tulum Archaeological Zone, the beaches of Akumal, and the Dos Ojos Cenotes. These trips last anywhere from one to six hours.
Snorkeling trips cost between $25 and $60(USD), but if you want to rent out the gear you'll pay $5 for a daily mask and snorkel and another $5(USD) for the fins.
Situated in the Riviera Maya, Acuatic Tulum is a good option if you'll be staying in this area of Quintana Roo. It's 1.9 miles east of Tulum.
