Bicycles, mopeds, and scooters offer a welcome alternative to taxis and rental cars for those who want to avoid high travel costs while enjoying a closer proximity to nature. These two wheeled vehicles, whether motorized or not, offer a great way to get out and about in the tropics.

Active tourists will jump at the chance to be able to explore the natural beauty of Turks and Caicos on two wheels with the power of their own body propelling them forward. Still others enjoy the feeling of riding around town in the open air, but don’t want to do the work. For these vacationers, mopeds and scooters offer the perfect solution. Fresh air and freedom of travel are just two of the many benefits you'll find with two wheeled travel on the Turks and Caicos.

Unfortunately, finding a bike or moped to rent outside of Providenciales is a challenge. Those vacationing on Providenciales, however, will find Grace Bay with its flat topography and newly paved roads and sidewalks to be especially bike friendly. The cost of a bike or moped rental will vary by rental agency, but you can expect to pay around $16(USD) a day for a bike, and about $40(USD) for a moped.

The Options

If you are intrigued by the idea of enjoying the scenery at a leisurely pace, you will encounter a variety of different places that can help make it happen.

If you're ready to make a reservation, you might want to check with Scooter Bob's Rentals. Offering bicycles, scooters, economy cars, jeeps, and kayaks, Scooter Bob's Rentals has all of your transportation needs for a stay on Provo covered. They are located in Five Cays, in western Turks and Caicos.

A second option is Caicos Cyclery. The only full-service bicycle shop on Providenciales, Caicos Cyclery covers everything from rentals to repairs and at some of the lowest rates around. This is a full service bike shop offering rentals, repairs and service, as well as accessories, clothing, supplies and tours of the area. You can reach them at (649) 941-7544.

Still another option is Bayside Rentals. Most people will rent a car for their stay in Grace Bay, and for that Bayside Rentals has you covered. If you're looking for a different type of transportation experience, you may want to consider one of their other offerings, which includes Scooters, Three-Wheelers, and Dune Buggies.
