Whether you're looking for rocky, cliff-lined beaches or pristine white beauties, you'll need to make a few decisions about where you travel in order to find them. Turks and Caicos visitors will need to use their research to pick everything from island to hotel.

Your research gave you a better idea of the options you've got among the Turks and Caicos. Now you'll make decisions to plan your journey step by step. A few guidelines will help to simplify this process.

Narrow Your Search (Which spot is best for me?)

The individual island and location you choose will make a big difference in your Turks and Caicos vacation. If you're most concerned with activities like golf, you'll want to stay in areas of the islands where golf is available.

However, some Internet travel sellers can provide accommodations searches by activity, ranking accommodations by their proximity to and quality of certain activities, helping you to narrow down the area you search.

Tracking down your perfect spot can be difficult, with many of the Turks and Caicos being less than easy to reach. Small, island-hopping propeller planes may deter some travelers from reaching some of the smaller islands. However, there are some harder to reach islands that are just as popular for travelers.

Arrivals (How will I get there?)

While for some the method by which you'll reach the Turks and Caicos is hardly a question, others are not so sure. Air travel is the most popular way to reach these islands, but only Providenciales receives direct flights. If you are uneasy about riding in the smaller planes, your trip would like stop here, or on islands reachable by sea.

The sea also offers options for a more direct arrival. Cruises are popular, but offer less time in the Turks and Caicos than other methods. The trip is as much a part of the vacation as the island stopover. And avid sailors may find their own yacht and sail it to the islands. This offers intrepid travelers the best of two worlds, they may choose the length of their stay and also travel by sea.

On the Island (Where will I go on the island?)

The activities you're most interested in will help many travelers dictate where they stay. For others, the accommodation options help dictate the activities they choose. No matter what the case, you will have to make this decision before you can book your stay in the Turks and Caicos.

Travelers looking for a truly out-of-the-way spot may find those a little more difficult to find than those looking for a hotel in the most popular tourist destinations, however, travelers will have little trouble finding hotels near fine diving and snorkeling.

Another consideration is who you plan to travel with. A couple planning a romantic getaway has plenty of choices, but might want to stay away from family-oriented hotels. Meanwhile, families might enjoy all-inclusives, where kids' activities and meals are included in the cost of the room. Groups may prefer to stay in a central location near to many different activities, or in a villa or vacation rental providing plenty of room.

Making picky decisions is one of the most important aspects of having an enjoyable vacation. You'll never feel like you missed a thing with decisions like these thought through.
