On the east coast of Grand Turk island is a small stretch of sand known as Murray Beach. As is common on the Turks and Caicos islands, this beach, though beautiful, often remains uninhabited. This makes it a great locale for vacationers looking for that deserted island feel when they spend a day at the beach.
Located on the island of Grand Turk, Murray Beach is on the North coast of the island, You should consider dropping by even if you are not staying nearby. There aren't many beaches in Turks and Caicos like Murray Beach; it's well-equipped with nearby activity, but surprisingly, it's never really too crowded. If you need more activity than you'll find on Turks and Caicos' quiet, secluded beaches, but don't want to be inundated with noisy crowds, this beach offers a comfortable middle ground.
Visitors can gain access to Murray Beach by driving just off nearest main to road to a smaller dirt road. Find parking along the road, then make your way through the trees, where you will find the beach.
Murray Beach features a thin stretch of white sand that leads up to turquoise colored waters.

Tourists at Murray Beach who are hoping to find some additional excitement might want to think about heading over to Cockburn Town, since it's nearby and is a particularly busy area of Turks and Caicos. From the coast, Cockburn Town is not far away, maybe a mile and a half (two and a half kilometers).
The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, it depends on several things: the season, the weather, even how full the nearby hotels are. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but it's sometimes enjoyed by guests from some of the smaller accommodations in the area.
