While Salt Cay is lined with world-class beaches, one in particular stands out: North Beach. In fact, for its beauty and seclusion, many say it is the best beach in the entirety of Turks and Caicos.

Located on the northern coast of the island of Salt Cay, You might want whether or not you are staying particularly close by. If you plan to sunbathe or take a nap on a fairly secluded beach, you should check out North Beach, a pretty, but less popular part of the coast.

Amenities and Ambiance

Not only is North Beach powdered with ivory white sand, but hidden within the sand is a wide variety if colorful sea glass and shells, which make for lovely natural souvenirs. Of course, one can not overlook the crystal clear blue waters and the shady trees that dot the land scape.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so grab some equipment if you want to see what lies beneath the surface.

North Beach is always a lovely side-trip when you're in the area. Look for it on the North East coast of Salt Cay; it's located near attractions like Salt Cay Salt Works, which is one of the most conveniently accessible attractions.

If you're interested in mixing a little culture with your trip to the beach, you may want to consider visiting H.M. Prison Museum, a lovely museum found nine and a half miles to the north-northeast, giving beachgoers the chance to escape that hot midday sunshine.

North Beach is very close to Balfour Town, so walking the city is a definite option. The closest town to North Beach is Balfour Town, which isn't a congested area, and it can be an interesting destination for visitors who want to see more of the area. From North Beach, Balfour Town is not far away, about a mile and a half (two and a half kilometers).


How many other people you encounter at North Beach will depend on many factors, including the capacity of nearby hotels. This beach is not near many large hotels, but you may meet visitors from smaller accommodations in the area.
