Rain in Turks and Caicos

One of the major attributes of Turks and Caicos is that the weather remains fairly consistent throughout the year. Just as the temperatures only fluctuate by a few degrees depending on the time of year, rain doesn't vary enough to push visitors to schedule their vacation during any particular month based on concerns about rainfall alone.

August through December is considered to be the island's wet season, but the total precipitation during these months is not greatly different than during the rest of the year. For example, November is the month with the highest amount of rainfall, at 3.7 inches on average, while March sees the least amount of rain with an average of one inch of rainfall. The entire year averages at 23 inches of cumulative rain.

In fact, the combination of light showers in the afternoon (as is the pattern when rain does fall) and sea breezes is what helps to cool the islands on those 90 degree days when the sun is beating down. Many islanders look forward to the effects that the rain has on a hot day.

Locals boast that they experience 360 sunny days a year. While this may not be entirely accurate, by no means should you put the breaks on a vacation on any of the islands because of the prospect of rain. If you are worried about it, simply carry a light-weight umbrella with you – though you'll quickly discover this is usually unnecessary.
