Located on the island of Vieques, You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you are staying particularly close by. This isn't just another pretty beach, it is one of the more unique and quiet beaches in Puerto Rico. While Bahia Icacos may be a little more difficult to reach, it allows you to relax without being bothered by the noise of the crowds.
A dirt road leads to a make-shift parking area, and a set of stairs allows you to gain access to the beach.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.

Visitors will find this beach on the East coast of Vieques. It's located near, which is seen eight and a half miles away, and it is one of a number of the area's interesting attractions.
Historical attractions like Fortín Conde De Mirasol provide a nice compliment to the scenery of Bahia Icacos, and allow visitors to learn more about Puerto Rico, without having to venture too far from the coast. In fact, this shoreline is nine miles from this destination of historical interest.

Bahia Icacos is near, so you can explore the city after your visit to the beach. Not far away you'll find Vieques Town, a city which is in an area with interesting things to do and see, but isn't as sprawling and crowded as some other areas. From the beach, Vieques Town is found maybe nine and a half miles (15 kilometers) away.
The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, depending on time of day, season, and how packed the nearby hotels are. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but you may encounter visitors from the few small lodgings in the area.

You might not run into any places to grab a bit to eat surrounding this coast, so it would be a good idea to plan a picnic for your day in the sun.
Vacationers in search of the perfect beach will have plenty of other choices on Vieques besides Bahia Icacos.
You might also enjoy Naguabo Beach, situated 27 and a half miles away. But, if you're interested in a more active beach, you might enjoy people watching at Bahia Salinas. It's found a quarter mile to the east.
You might also want to visit El Gallito, located not too far away, and can be reached in a cab.
Bahia Icacos could be the ideal stretch of sand, but it is possible that it may not be the best choice for your family; if so, there are other beaches and natural attractions in Puerto Rico you might like.
