Located on the east side of Isla de Vieques, Laguna La Plata is part of the National Wildlife Refuge of Vieques. The beach is almost never crowded and the waters are calm, perfect for a family day at the beach.
Located near the heart of the island of Vieques, Secret Beach is on the East coast of the island, You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying very close. Secret Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's perfect for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Many of the other beaches in Puerto Rico may be just as pretty, but tend to be more crowded since they're right in the thick of tourists' favorite hangouts.

Laguna La Plata is set in a crescent shaped bay backed by miles of forest. The shore features sugar white, soft sand, and the waters are a stunning turquoise.
Please note that public restrooms are not available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so bring along some equipment if you want to do some underwater exploration.
If you tend to enjoy beach days that bring guests an angelic environment, then a good choice for you is Secret Beach; it is found in a more rural section of the region.
You'll find this beach on the East coast of Vieques. It is close to, which is found three and a half miles to the west-southwest, and it is one of the area's attractions.
If you want to combine a cultural experience with your visit to the beach, you might want to consider visiting Vieques Conservation and Historical Trust, a lovely museum found six and a half miles away, giving beachgoers the chance to escape that hot midday sunshine.

The closest town is Fajardo, which is not an overly urbanized area, but still has its fair share of things to do. From the coast, Vieques Town is a fairly short distance away, maybe five miles (eight kilometers).
The crowdedness of the shoreline can vary widely, depending on when you visit, and how many of the nearby hotel rooms have been booked. There aren't many major hotels nearby, but it can attract guests staying at the few small lodgings in the area.

Of course, there are lots of other spots along the coast of Vieques, so if Secret Beach doesn't suit you, you can still find a great spot.
You might also enjoy Naguabo Beach, situated 23 miles away. Others might prefer La Chiva, which offers a little more opportunity for excitement, and isn't far from other popular destinations. It's located three quarters of a mile to the west-southwest.
Travelers may also want to consider Esperanza Beach, located six and a half miles to the west.
