For most tourists visiting St. Lucia, their concern is that they'll have to fly to the international airport in Vieux Fort then drive past another airport to get to their destination. For obvious reasons, if you're visiting this industrial town this is not a problem – unless you are one of the rare people who must book a flight that connects in the Caribbean then flies to the George F.L. Charles Airport in Castries.
Because the international airport is located in Vieux Fort it is very uncommon for tourists to arrive at the in Castries, but it does happen on occasion. This small airport currently only sees air flow from other airports in the Caribbean.

It doesn't take much to get to the center of Vieux Fort from the international airport. Simply take St. Judes Highway east toward Clarke Street, then take a left to New Dock Road.
As you might imagine, driving to this town from Castries is a bit more involved. If you somehow end up flying into George F.L. Charles Airport, you'll exit the facility by driving east on Peninsular towards John Compton Highway. You'll reach a roundabout and take the fourth exit to get onto the highway, stay on the highway through another roundabout, then turn left onto Jeremie Street, right onto Chausee Road, then left onto Leslie Land Road. After a time, you'll turn left onto Micoud Highway, then left onto New Dock Road, and make your way to your accommodations from there.
Although there are several possibilities that will get you to Vieux Fort by air, if you're like most people you'll stick to flying to the local airport making planning your getaway here as easy as can be.
