As one of the larger towns on the island, Vieux Fort benefits from several different transportation options that smaller areas may not access with such ease. The bus is one of these services.
The buses in Vieux Fort are most often used by locals who take the 14 passenger minivans to and from work and also to run their errands for the low price of $1(USD) per person per ride. This does not meant that tourists can't also take advantage of the service.
Buses are not only available in Vieux Fort but also to and from other large towns on the island like Rodney Bay and Castries. In town, there are marked bus stops, but you shouldn't rely on them too much. Most people find it easier to flag a bus down on the street, hop in, and go.
For the most part, the buses make a loop around town from morning until around 10:00 at night, stopping to pick up passengers and dropping them off when needed. If you're looking for a bus, pay attention to the license plate, which will be green and marked with an "M."
