Attractions in the Area Around Clear Sky Hotel

1 | Fort Charlotte

The large Fort Charlotte may be in ruins, but there is still plenty to explore. The fort, built in 1764 by the French, still maintains many of its walkways and staircases, as the site has been renovated as a community college and government offices.

Visitors can find this historical site within driving distance of Marigot, 18 miles (28 and a half kilometers) to the north of Clear Sky Hotel.

1 | Anse Louvert

On the island's rocky eastern coast, this beach will only be accessed by the adventurous and, as a result, you'll likely have it all to yourself. Bring lots of water and some food as you won't find any beach bars or other facilities on this part of the island.

This beach is located 16.7 miles (26.9 km) to the north of Clear Sky Hotel.

1 | Barre de L'isle Rain Forest Trail

Head 12.1 miles (19.5 km) north from Clear Sky Hotel to get to this hiking trail, which is situated at Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve.

2 | Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve

This popular climb and hike is a major eco-tourist attraction on St. Lucia, and any fan of hiking up mountains and fantastic views will want to give the Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve a try.

This nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve is situated from Barre de L'isle Rain Forest Trail, and is on East Coast Road.

1 | Sault Falls

Known also by Dennery and Errand Falls, Sault Faulls is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island. It is also one of the lesser-known falls, the perfect reprieve for visitors who prefer a quiet hike and dip in the cool pools that is fills.

From Clear Sky Hotel, go 12 and a half miles (20 kilometers) to the north to locate this waterfall.

1 | Marigot Beach

The unspoilt quality at this beach is perfect for a picnic or just relaxing and enjoying the view. This beach should not be confused with the nearby cove at Marigot Bay.

Clear Sky Hotel is 17 miles (27 kilometers) to the south-southeast of this beach.

2 | Marigot Bay

Marigot Bay's unspoiled lands and marked popularity draw visitors from all over, making it home to many different facilities and accommodations for guests. Enjoy fine dining, shopping, entertainment, and other activities along the shore while at Marigot Bay.

Interested guests can find this beach just 0.8 miles (1.3 km) northeast of Roseau Bay.

3 | New Pointmarigot Marina

If you're coming from Marigot Bay, go a short distance to the southeast to locate this marina.

1 | Dennery Harbour

Interested guests can find this marina 13.2 miles (21.2 km) north-northeast of Clear Sky Hotel.

1 | Mt. Gimie

Standing guard over the island of St. Lucia is Mt. Gimie, the tallest mountain on the island.

If you're coming from Clear Sky Hotel, go 11 and a half miles (18 and a half kilometers) to the north-northwest to get to this volcano.

1 | Anse Chastanet

Anse Chastanet Beach is a lovely spot. It's in possession of that smooth, soft sand that begs to be squished between your toes.

Go 13 miles (20 and a half kilometers) to the northwest from Clear Sky Hotel to get to this beach.

2 | Soufriere Beach

A quiet beach in the north of Soufriere Town, it is visited mainly by locals. Boaters also enjoy Soufriere as there are a number of spots for boat anchorage.

Interested visitors will find this beach in the western part of Soufrière, one and a quarter miles (two kilometers) east-southeast of Anse Chastanet.

3 | Soufriere Marine Management Area

This nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve can be found one and a quarter miles (two kilometers) to the south west of Soufriere Beach.

1 | River Rock Waterfall

This waterfall is located 14 and a half miles (23 and a half kilometers) north-northwest of Clear Sky Hotel.

1 | Edmund Rainforest Trail

This hiking trail is situated 7.5 miles (12.0 km) north-northwest of Clear Sky Hotel, and is on the same premises as Edmund Forest Reserve.

2 | Edmund Forest Reserve

A hike through Edmund Forest Reserve is a three-and-a-half hour long experience that will give tourists an inside look of some of St. Lucia's most pristine and well-kept forest land.

Interested guests will find this nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve within easy traveling distance from Soufrière, from Edmund Rainforest Trail.

1 | Mamiku Gardens

A collection of tropical plants and ruins of a house built in the 1700's, the Mamiku Gardens are quite an adventure despite its well maintained state.

This botanical garden is located on Vieux Fort Highway, and is ten miles (16 kilometers) north-northeast of Clear Sky Hotel.

2 | Fregate Islands

This nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve is a mile and a half (two and a half kilometers) northeast of Mamiku Gardens, and is within traveling distance from Dennery.

1 | Enbas Saut Falls

A scenic hike along a trail dotted with smaller waterfalls leads visitors to a gorgeous, awe inspiring waterfall called Enbas Saut. Wildlife tends to hide from hikers here, but on occasion a glimpse of the St. Lucian Parrot makes the trip worth it.

Make your way 9.2 miles (14.8 km) north-northwest from Clear Sky Hotel to find this waterfall.

1 | Laborie Beach

This beach can be found four miles (six and a half kilometers) to the west-northwest of Clear Sky Hotel.

2 | Morne Le Blanc Trail

1 | Jalouise

This beautiful beach can only be reached one of two ways -- either through the Jalousie Hilton Resort, or by boat. Those not staying at the resort are still welcomed, however.

This beach can be found ten and a half miles (16 and a half kilometers) to the northwest of Clear Sky Hotel.

2 | Piton Falls

Nestled within one of St. Lucia's most sought after outdoor attractions, Pitons Falls is simply one of the sites that visitors staying in and around Soufriere must make it a point to see. You can do so from Sulfur Springs, but the bigger impact will be to take a quick hike and see the falls up close.

Jalouise is a short distance (about a kilometer) to the south of this waterfall.

3 | St. Lucia Zip Lining

A popular attractions on St. Lucia is the Morne Coubaril Estate, where visitors are invited to see what life was like on a working plantation, for both the workers and their owners. But there is more to this estate than just a tour.

This zip line site is 0.8 miles (1.2 km) north-northeast of Piton Falls, and is within Morne Coubaril Estate.

4 | Morne Coubaril Estate

Morne Coubaril Estate is a 250-acre 18th century plantation estate that has been restored and is now used as a museum that shows visitors what life on the plantation was like. Not only is the estate house available for touring, but the grounds are as well, which include shacks in the worker's village that served as the plantation workers homes, and a working mill.

At St. Lucia Zip Lining you will find this zip line site.

5 | Tanzanite Heights Waterfall

Even more off the beaten track than your typical waterfall, Tanzanite Heights is one that very few people actually travel to, despite its beauty. Set near the Morne Boubaril estate, you'll find this is one of the most serene natural destinations at the heart of town.

This waterfall is located a short distance away to the southeast of Morne Coubaril Estate.

6 | Sulphur Springs Park

One of the island's most famous natural attractions, the sulfur springs draws in over 200 thousand visitors each year. This 46-hectare park boasts a combination of geological features including the Caribbean’s only “drive-in volcano”, world-class interpretation center and two hot water bathing pools.

This nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve is a short distance from Tanzanite Heights Waterfall, and is on Tet Paul Nature Trail.

7 | Volvano at Sulphur Springs

Home to the "world's only drive in volcano," Sulphur Springs does very literally allow guests to drive their car through the center of the dormant Soufriere Volcano.

This volcano is located on the same premises as Sulphur Springs Park.

8 | Springs at Sulphur Springs

A major part of Sulphur Springs National Park is the sulfur springs themselves. They formed from a weak spot in a collapsed crater over 410,000 years ago.

This hot spring can be found at Sulphur Springs Park.

9 | Diamond Falls

One of the top natural features in the Caribbean, Diamond Falls is famous for its mineral rich water and beautiful grotto.

If you are coming from Springs at Sulphur Springs, go three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers) north to get to this waterfall.

10 | Toraille Waterfalls

One of the biggest waterfalls in the area, Toraille is a natural heritage site and popular among tourists thanks to the facilities that are offered. It is also very easy to reach, so if you don't feel up for a challenging hike, you'll still reap the rewards of one of nature's works of art.

Visitors will be able to find this waterfall about three quarters of a mile (a little more than a kilometer) to the east of Diamond Falls.

1 | Fort Viuex Marina

This marina is 0.6 miles (1.0 km) south west of Clear Sky Hotel.

2 | Vieux Fort

This beach is located opposite the more popular beaches of Vieux Fort's eastern shore, Anse Des Sables and Sandy Beach. While not typically a spot flocked to by tourists, it is worth going to if you're on the southern tip of the island and want to get away from the more popular beaches.

Interested visitors can find this beach on the southern outskirts of Vieux Fort, less than a mile away from Fort Viuex Marina.

3 | Independence Square

This park is located one and an eighth miles (a kilometer and a half) to the north of Vieux Fort.

4 | Anse des Sables

Because of the strong gusts of wind at Anse des Sables, the area is particularly popular for windsurfing. Flanked by Vieux Fort Bluff and looking out onto Maria Major Island, there are splendid views in all directions at this tropical paradise.

This beach is located less than a mile from Independence Square.

5 | Vieux Fort Lighthouse

From Anse des Sables, go one and a quarter miles (two kilometers) to the south to find this lighthouse.

6 | Maria Islands

In 1982, the government of St. Lucia declared Maria Islands a nature reserve. Today they function as a wildlife habitat where flora and fauna are protected and guests can learn about the unique tropical topography.

From Vieux Fort Lighthouse, go one and an eighth miles (a kilometer and a half) northeast to locate this nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve.

1 | Gros Pitons

The most recognizable natural attractions on St. Lucia are, hands down, the Pitons. These two volcanic mountains, called Gros Piton and Petit Piton are separated from one another by the Piton Mitan Ridge, and are popular amongst hikers who revel in a gorgeous view of the island when they reach the top.

Found on the premises of Pitons Management Area, this volcano is 9.8 miles (15.8 km) to the northwest of Clear Sky Hotel.

2 | Pitons Management Area

Consisting of two lava domes, the Pitons Management area offers perfect views of Gros Piton and Petit Piton and is a great starting off point for exploration of the mountains and all of their volcanic features.

When you're coming from Gros Pitons, go a quarter mile (a half kilometer) south-southeast to get to this nature sanctuary/wildlife reserve.

3 | Gros Pitons Hiking Trail

This hiking trail can be found on the same premises as Pitons Management Area.

4 | Tet Paul Nature Trail

Make your way three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers) to the east from Gros Pitons Hiking Trail to find this hiking trail.

5 | Fond Doux Plantation

Originally opened over 250 years ago, this property is one of the oldest still working plantations on the island. With accommodations, a restaurant, and a wedding venue, this place has it all.

Travel three quarters of a mile (a kilometer) north-northeast from Tet Paul Nature Trail to reach this plantation.

1 | George Odium Stadium

You can find this sporting event venue in the vicinity of Vieux Fort, a mile and a half (two and a half kilometers) north of Clear Sky Hotel.

1 | Anse Couchon

While visiting Anse Couchon, beachgoers can enjoy some underwater sightseeing at the beach's shallow reef, which is home to an array of fascinating sea life. Visitors will doubtlessly fall in love with the exotic and picturesque shores of this romantic getaway.
