Spring Bay

Spring Bay, located on the southwestern coast of Virgin Gorda, offers crystal clear waters and golden sand for all varieties of beachgoers. Because of its location bordering the populated Baths on the island, the beach is a nice alternative to the massive crowds and for fun you can easily access it by swimming from The Baths.

Located on the island of Virgin Gorda, You should consider dropping by whether or not you are staying in the immediate vicinity. Although the Virgin Islands has beaches that are more secluded than Spring Bay, it offers just the right amount of privacy and atmosphere to attract beachgoers.

How to Access The Beach
Access to the beach is provided by a small path and carpark, which is located off of the island's main road.

Spring Bay, which neighbors The Baths on Virgin Gorda, offers guests clear waters that are just perfect for snorkeling. The sands are soft and boulders are scattered along the shore, making this beach one of the best on the island. Palm trees dot the beachfront, providing shade for guests, while silhouetted hills make for vistas that will keep you entranced the entire day long.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch. If available, you could also buy food from one of the mobile vendors who operate at or near this spot.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Happily, the off-shore waters are fit for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you're hoping to see what lies beneath the surface. Spring Bay borders The Baths, one of the major tourist attractions on Virgin Gorda; and although it is not as crowded, Spring Bay's shores still draw a crowd.

You should remember that Spring Bay's location is is a much-visited area, so factor that into your plans.

Spring Bay is in the Spanish Town area, so exploring the city is a convenient option. Spanish Town is the closest city and is an area with plenty to do, but yet isn't overcrowded. From the beach, Spanish Town is a fairly short distance away, roughly one and a quarter miles (two kilometers).


Whether or not you encounter a lot of other visitors will depend on if you visit during a popular season, which is often indicated by how busy the hotels are. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but you may meet guests from some of the smaller accommodations in the area.
