Just east of one of Virgin Gorda's most popular attractions, the Baths, is Spring Bay. Established in 1964 as a National Park, this spot is favored for snorkeling and picnicking.
Because Spring Bay is a protected area, the marine life here is fantastic. This makes it a great spot for snorkeling. Those uninterested in snorkeling with find a little cove enclosed by boulders called The Crawl, which was once used to hold sea life by fishermen until they were ready to be sold in order to ensure absolute freshness. The well-manicured lawn that leads up to the sand is a great place to plan a picnic lunch and allow young kids to run free and get some energy out, as swings have recently been added to the property.
Spring Bay National Park is found on the island of Virgin Gorda, 5.9 miles south west of Leverick Bay; it is 1.3 miles to the south-southwest of Spanish Town.
After spending some time at the nature preserve you find your stomach stomach growling, there's any easy solution -- you can find numerous choices of food and drink providers in this general area. Top of the Baths and Coconut Junction where you and your party can't get up and go without ordering a plate of their specialty seafood., which offers Caribbean dishes, is also the most convenient dining option from the wildlife reservation. Visitors that like nature preserves, and would like to see others, should check out Copper Mine National Park and Virgin Gorda Peak National Park; the first of which is a mile to the east of Spring Bay National Park. Other local attractions include Devil's Bay National Park, which is a quarter mile away Virgin Gorda. Also, you might consider checking out Copper Mine Ruins, which is another attraction in the vicinity.
