At 1370 feet above sea level, the Virgin Gorda Peak National Park is one of the only remaining examples of a Caribbean dry forest in the British Virgin Islands and even some of the surrounding island nations. The park was donated to the National Park System in 1974 and is now popular amongst hikers.

The view from the top of Virgin Gorda Peak is a panoramic look at the North Sound, and sometimes you can even see Anegada in the distance.

As you hike the trails to the Virgin Gorda Peak National Park you'll encounter a wide variety of vegetation from dry forest in lower elevation levels to moist forest in higher elevations. This park is home to one of the world's smallest lizards, the Virgin Gorda gecko. A picnic site is available at the top of the mountain.
