All of the beaches on Water Island are open to the public, and because they are rarely overpopulated visitors often feel as though they are on their own private stretch of sand. Options range from soft white sands to slightly rocky and rugged, so taking into account what you'd like to accomplish on your beach outing, you'll have plenty of options.
There are a large selection of beaches to consider visiting on and near the island. Snorkeling is available at some of these beaches, if some members of your party enjoy this relaxing pastime. You can click on the name of each beach for a detailed guide to that part of the coast.
If you love to snorkel, a beach with that option is Emerald Beach. The beach features calm, clear waters from the Lindbergh Bay and beautiful white sand that is perfect for barefoot strolling. Palm trees and sea grapes dot the shoreline, providing shade, while the curvature of the island gives a wonderful panoramic view of green and blue.
Another good option for snorkeling fans is Morning Star Beach. The beach is accessible from Frenchman Bay Road, which turns into Route 315. Drivers should follow the road until it ends, as it leads directly into a car park.
Brewers Bay: Stunning white sands and inviting blue waters beckon guests to the shores of Brewer's Bay, while the shade from scattered palms offers a retreat from the sun at this beach. As the beach is technically on the University of the Virgin Island's campus (though it is still open to the public), it is well maintained by the staff.
