The best beaches on the island are actually located west of Willemstad on the island's south coast. Fortunately, it just takes a few minutes of driving time to reach these beaches, but if you prefer to stay in city limits, you'll find the beaches to be calm and great for swimming.
You'll find several beaches to visit in the area. You can click on the name of the beach for a detailed review of that particular beach.
Jan Thiel Beach: A well-developed European-style beach built up with all the essentials and non-essentials for a fun day on the beach, Jan Thiel Beach is always busy with tourists lounging, participating in watersports, and enjoy the dining opportunities.
A second option worth considering is Blue Bay Beach. The sea floor slopes gently, and the crystal clear waters lap calmly onto the beach's soft white sand. The beautiful water and the on-location dive school make this a great spot to practice or learn to scuba dive, and its shallow depth make it suitable for swimmers of all abilities.
