The best beaches on the island are actually located west of Willemstad on the island's south coast.  Fortunately, it just takes a few minutes of driving time to reach these beaches, but if you prefer to stay in city limits, you'll find the beaches to be calm and great for swimming.

Beach Choices In The Area

There are a large selection of beaches to consider visiting in the area. For a detailed guide to one particular beach just click on the names of the ones you want to learn about.

Jan Thiel Beach

If you are hoping to snorkel, a location offering that option is Seaquarium Beach. Located a short distance from Willemstad, take Penstraat east along the coast from downtown. The road will turn into Martin Luther King Blvd before turning into Bapor Kibra.

Another place to consider is Pampoen Beach. The unique diving experience here is so special in large part because of the "car pile" - an artificial reef made entirely of old cars that were dumped here in the 60s. Though if diving isn't your thing, that doesn't mean you should skip over this beach.

Baoase Beach: The beach can only be accessed through the Baoase Luxury Resort.
