Near Willemstad, this large beach is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. Families will especially find Blue Bay Beach to their liking. Many facilities are available, and palm trees, thatched huts, and umbrellas provide pleasant respite from the sun. There is a bar and restaurant right on the beach, and a water sports center provides equipment for diving and kayaking, among other activities.

Positioned in the vicinity of Willemstad, along the southern outskirts of Piscadera, Blue Bay Beach is on the South edge of Curacao. You should consider stopping by regardless of whether you are staying nearby. Eventually, visitors notice that beaches throughout Curaçao tend to be fairly quiet and secluded, but Blue Bay Beach is a little different.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is easily accessible from Willemstad by car or taxi. There is parking available off Piscaderaweg which you can reach via Rector Zwijsenstraat running along the southern coast.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sea floor slopes gently, and the crystal clear waters lap calmly onto the beach's soft white sand. The beautiful water and the on-location dive school make this a great spot to practice or learn to scuba dive, and its shallow depth make it suitable for swimmers of all abilities.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Luckily, umbrellas can be used by guests looking for relief from the sultry island sun.

Don't forget that Blue Bay Beach's location is a popular spot, which means you may find quite a few people vying for the use of the same facilities.

Other Beaches

Of course, Blue Bay Beach is just one of many beaches you might like on Curacao.

If the active mood at Blue Bay Beach is one of the features you love, you'll want to consider heading to Daibooibaai, another destination with a good amount of excitement. You'll find it ten and a half miles to the northwest. Daibooibaai's dramatic cliffs rise out of the bright blue waters for guests to look at while lounging on the shore, and chairs and umbrellas are available for extra comfort. If it's solitude and tranquility you're seeking, Blauwbaai is an area secluded from lots of tourists and buildings. You'll find it only a short distance away.

You may also want to consider Boka St. Michiel, which is located three miles to the northwest.

Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand in Curaçao, but visiting Blue Bay Beach or the other beautiful beaches in the area can make your time in Curaçao even more memorable.
