At 200 thousand years old, the Hato Caves were made accessible to the public in 1991 when foot paths were carved into the ground. Now this spot, which is the biggest cave on the island, is also one of the most popular natural attractions.

Within the Hato Caves visitor will see a collection of limestone formations, the statue of Maria holding her child, and a water pool. Several tours are available, including the Hato Cave Tour, which is a 45 minute guided walk trough the cave which leaves daily at 4:00 p.m. and the Indian Trail Walk, which is a 20 minute self guided tour.
