Amenities and Ambiance

Seaquarium Beach is lined with majestic palm trees for shade and surrounded by calm blue waters that are protected by a carefully placed breakwater. Swimming conditions are thus excellent, and the sand is at least as brilliantly white as any other spot on the island.

You could always try the restaurant right on the water, if it suits your taste. Curaçao has plenty of fantastic eateries around town, but don't think that tables, chairs, and waiters are prerequisites for a great meal. Many visitors have lunch right on their towels in the sand. Did you know that some hotels are happy to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, street vendors and casual walk-up eateries will have take-out dishes you can bring to the beach.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch. Sometimes, visitors will be able to purchase food from one of the mobile vendors who operate at or near this spot.

Yes, public restrooms will be available here. Fortunately, showers are provided, so you don't have to go back to your hotel sandy. You will also be pleased to find umbrellas and chairs here, so guests hoping for relief from the sultry island sun will get their wish. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear and good for snorkeling, so grab your gear if you're hoping to see what lies beneath the surface. The sands of Seaquarium Beach are generally safe, and there are even security patrols. These shores are ideal for beachgoers with children as the waters here are shallow and very calm. During the weekdays Seaquarium Beach can get very busy and shy beachgoers be warned, topless sunbathing is allowed on these shores.

Don't forget that Seaquarium Beach's immediate surroundings are an urban area, meaning you may find many people vying for the use of the same amenities.

Other Beaches

There are multiple beaches to discover on Curacao, of course, so Seaquarium Beach is not your only option.

If the vibrant atmosphere of Seaquarium Beach has you wanting more of the same, think about heading to Daibooibaai, a spot with the same type of electricity. It is located 15 and a half miles to the northwest. Daibooibaai's dramatic cliffs rise out of the bright blue waters for guests to look at while lounging on the shore, and chairs and umbrellas are available for extra comfort. If you're looking for a more secluded beach experience, Pampoen Beach may be a good choice. It is located not far off the beach at all.

You may also want to consider Baoase Beach, located within a short distance.

There are plenty of natural wonders to behold in Curaçao, and dropping by Seaquarium Beach is just one way to appreciate a pretty afternoon.
