Within a quarter of a mile off the shore of Xcalak is a barrier reef that runs along the coast. Because this was once a busy fishing village, the sea life is not as abundant as other locations, but divers can still elk horn coral and plate coral that goes as deep as 75 feet in some places.
There is one dive operator and at least 11 interesting dive sites to choose from.
