Nestled between the mountains of southeast Puerto Rico is a sleepy little town known as Maunabo. Within this town there are three beaches: Faro Punta Tuna, Playa Faro, and Los Bohios. Although the strength of the waves vary by location and by day, this part of the island does see some of the strongest surf. Faro Punta Tuna in particular is not recommended from swimming, while the other beaches vary by day. Experienced surfers will especially love this section of coast.
Located near the heart of Emajagua, 1.5 miles east of Maunabo, Maunabo Beach is on the South East coast of Puerto Rico. You might think about stopping by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. Travelers looking for a spot that's a little out of the way, but still active, may really like a visit to Maunabo Beach. It's not one of the beaches that's always brimming with visitors, but it's not totally secluded either.

The beaches of Maunabo Beach enjoy soft, golden colored sand and aquamarine waters. Some notable landmarks at each beach include the Punta Tuna Lighthouse at Faro Punta Tuna, the marshes at Playa Faro, and a seafood restaurant at Los Bohios.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.
