Coba Ruins

The Coba Ruins are the site of the primary Maya city in the region before 1000 AD. This site, is more spread out than other Maya cities, and archaeologist have not made much effort to reconstruct the city, so guests will really have the feeling of exploring a lost city.


Visitors to the Coba Ruins will have no trouble exploring all the pyramids, shrines, and temples located throughout the ancient city.

Consider staying in the Riviera Maya if you plan on visiting Coba Ruins, as travelers to this region of the Yucatan Peninsula will have convenient access to the historical site throughout their trip. You won't find the area surrounding the historical site flooded with tourists, perhaps because there are so few hotel booking options close.

Location and What's Nearby

Hungry visitors will have their choice of at least a few local eateries nearby. The most convenient place to eat is Lavazza Cafe, an ideal locale to enjoy a meal at before checking out this historical site. The eatery is a brief ways off. El Faison and La Sazon Mexicana are some of the additional refreshment choices. At La Sazon Mexicana you may sample Mexican dishes and enjoy the Yucatan Peninsula scene.
